I LOVE THE NATIONS (Updated)

Hey fam, I am SO excited to be able to share with you what’s going on in my world, and let you in on some crazy opportunities God has opened for me. Love you all so much!!

I am excited to write you and share with you the many things God is doing in our city as well as around the world. Last year after getting back from Costa Rica in early August I felt God telling me that if I could go around the world and share Christ, I needed to do it more intentionally and faithfully in my hometown. We already had a small bible study going on in downtown Greenville, and before we knew it God started blessing and using us powerfully as His light on the streets of Greenville. Now, 7 months later, Immerse has gained support from my local church, Clearview, and God is sending us out each Thursday night into the heart of Greenville to share the love of God with everyone we come in contact with, as well as meeting on Friday nights for a time of worship, Bible study, and fellowship.

In 2012, we have seen already two people give their life to Christ, many disciples being made, and numerous seeds planted through God’s work at Immerse!! Revelation 22:17 says, “The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.” At Immerse, we believe it’s our responsibility as the Church to bid the world, Come! Then to disciple those who come so they can in turn bid their friends and family, Come!

We are working through the power of the Holy Spirit to break down the four walls that the enemy builds up around so many churches in order to love more than we think is possible, be a friend to those who others leave behind, and forgive faster than we think is wise. All because Jesus did these things, and we seek to be like Him.

Please keep Immerse in your prayers.

Also I want to share with you some doors that have been opened to me for this spring and summer. As most of you know, my heart is on the foreign mission field, going to the least of these, sharing with them the hope and love of Jesus Christ. I am super thankful that God allows me to be a part of His army, on mission with Him, no matter where I am in the world. What a privilege that is!

I am praying God will allow me to walk through each door that is open.

INDIA - In May, about a month from now, Lord willing I will be going back to India for the second time with YHWH Ministries. Hinduism has approximately 330 million documented little ‘g’ gods, and there is SO much work to be done there in order to get the Gospel to each one of them. For them to take your phone or computer and bow down to it is a nothing out of the ordinary for them. So many people, so little help, and such short time we have. Jesus was so right (as He always is) when He said in Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” It is impossible to describe India to you, except to say that it is like another planet. But God created those precious souls just like He created you and me, in HIS image! It is IMPERATIVE that we get the Good News to these people, as well as be able to train the national pastors to continue the work when we leave. Last year we shared the Gospel with thousands and had over 1100 stand professing Jesus Christ as Lord of their life!! Please pray for us on this trip, as many lives will be forever changed with the truth of JESUS CHRIST! If you can help support this trip please make checks payable to “YHWH Ministries, PO Box 14405, Greenville, SC 29610” and please include my name (Justin Broome) along with “India Trip” on there. Thank you in advance for helping me go!

ROMANIA - In July, the 5th through the 16th, I will be with Connecting Point Church and Pastor Chuck Bridges in Romania. We are currently working with kids from a village called Sanger. They have become like children to me, and to be able to love on them and teach them from the Word of God is one of the greatest things God has ever allowed me to be a part of. Most of them are in non-Christian homes and as the Church I believe it is our duty to teach them and raise them up in the ways of Jesus. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Last year we took these kids to a camp in a remote location in the mountains of Romania (Camp Valea Verde), and for most of them it was their first time ever going out of their village. We will be going to the same camp this year and I am looking forward to God blessing and changing our lives that week! Last year we has 24 kids come to the camp, many who stood and made a desision to follow Christ, and we are expecting many more than that this year! Please keep these kids, all the national volunteers, and our team in your prayers during the next few months as we prepare for God to do amazing things!! If you can help support this trip please make checks payable to “Connecting Point Church, PO Box 14608, Greenville, SC, 29610,” and please include my name (Justin Broome) along with “Romania Trip” on there. Thank you in advance for helping me go!

COSTA RICA - July 27th – August 4th I will be going with Clearview Baptist Church back to the Nicoya region of Costa Rica, working with many different pastors who are either starting a church plant, or already have churches in the area. Each person on our team will have a national worker as well as a translator as we go door to door sharing the story of Jesus Christ with each person in each house. Last year we saw over 400 people give their lives to Christ, and we are trusting God to save more this year! If you can help support this trip please make checks payable to “Clearview Baptist Church, 5611 State Park Rd, Travelers Rest, SC, 29690,” and please include my name (Justin Broome) along with “Costa Rica Trip” on there. Thank you in advance for helping me go!

I can’t even begin to express to you how awesome our God is, and how overwhelmed I am to be able to travel the globe and share the Gospel along with my testimony of how it has changed my life. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him (the enemy) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” I hope that you will join me in sharing the Gospel to all people along with your story of how it changed your life.

Thank you family!! Love you and may God bless you!!

7 Things God Wants You to Know About Yourself

Your true identity can’t be found by “looking within yourself” for the answers. Our identity can only be found by looking to the One who Created us. Here are seven important principles God wants you to know about Yourself:

  1. You are Loved. One of the most mind-blowing realities the Bible teaches is that the God of the Universe loves us! He loves you so much He sent His only Son Jesus to rescue you and bring you home. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

  2. You Need Jesus. He desires to be the Savior of your Soul, the Leaders of your Life, your guide and your friend. Without Him, your life will never be what God intended it to be. With Him, you can experience all God has for you. Jesus did not come to make you religious; He came to make you alive! “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

  3. You are a Masterpiece. You might not feel like it, but how you feel doesn’t change who you are! God’s sees you as a one-in-a-trillion priceless Masterpiece created in His Own Image. The Mona Lisa has got nothing on You! “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

  4. You are Forgiven. Once you trust Jesus for forgiveness, your sins are no longer counted against you, so don’t live in regret! You are not defined by what you’ve done. God never measures our value by what we’ve done or by what’s been done to us, but by what He has done for us on the Cross. God’s Grace takes away our sin and makes us a New Creation so we can live in freedom and peace. “if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:9

  5. You are not Alone. We all have those moments where we feel lonely and abandoned, but even in your darkest hour, God is with you. He has never left your side and He never will. “…God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

  6. You are part of God’s Family. Our faith in Christ brings us adoption into God’s family. You are literally a Son or Daughter of God and an heir in His Eternal Kingdom. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! “ 1 John 3:1

  7. You have a Home in Heaven. Jesus is preparing a place just for you. A perfect place awaits where the trouble and pain of this life will be no more and you’ll celebrate forever with your Savior and all of God’s Family! “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:1-3

GOD OF JUSTICE - Psalm 9:7-8 But the LORD sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness.

SAVIOR TO ALL – Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what is lost. I Timothy 1:15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinner – of whom I am the worst.

CAME TO RESCUE THE WEAK AND THE POOR – Psalm 9:9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 12:5 Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.” Psalm 74:21 Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name

CHOSE TO SERVE AND NOT BE SERVED – Mark 10:44-45 And whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Acts 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

JESUS, YOU HAVE CALLED US – Called us to be the LIGHT…Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world…Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven. Called us to SUFFER…I Peter 2:21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. Called to REMAIN in HIM…John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing… He calls us, all we need to do is respond.

FREELY WE’VE RECEIVED – Romans 3:22-24 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

NOW FREELY WE WILL GIVE – Acts 2:45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 2 Corinthians 9:So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights. John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Galatians 1:4 Jesus gave Himself for our sins. Ephesians 5:2 Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us. God is a giver and He wants us to be like Him.

WE MUST GO – Matthew 28:18 Go and make disciples of ALL nations. Matthew 22:9 Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.

LIVE TO FEED THE HUNGRY - Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

STAND BESIDE THE BROKEN – Jeremiah 22:16 He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me? Declares the LORD.

WE MUST GO – Matthew 10:6-7 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, preach this message: The kingdom of Heaven is near.

Stepping forward keep us from just singing – James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the Rock. Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

MOVE US INTO ACTION – Treat others as you would have them treat you Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. HELP OTHERS Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Stop worrying Matthew 6:27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? I Thess 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Forgive enemies Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Learn God’s Word Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you I Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. Tell others about Jesus In Romans 10:1 Paul says, Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

WE MUST GO – Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

TO ACT JUSTLY EVERYDAY – Psalm 37:28 For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his faithful ones. The righteous shall be kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers

LOVING MERCY IN EVERYWAY – Micah 7:18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sins and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

Zechariah 7:8-10 This is what the LORD Almighty says: Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.

Ephesians 2:3-5 Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

WALKING HUMBLY BEFORE YOUR GOD – James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord and He will exalt you

Routinely confess your sin to God. (Luke 18:9-14)

Acknowledge your sin to others. (James 3:2, James 5:16)

Take wrong patiently. (1 Peter 3:8-17)

Actively submit to authority…the good and the bad! (1 Peter 2:18)

Receive correction and feedback from others graciously. (Proverbs 10:17, 12:1)

Accept a lowly place. (Proverbs 25:6,7)

Purposely associate with people of lower state than you. (Luke 7:36-39)

YOU HAVE SHOWN US WHAT YOU REQUIRE – Micah 6:8 He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

FILL US UP AND SEND US OUT - Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all of Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth.
